Artist Statement
CVT.S. Harris’ paintings speak to the central issues of human existence - desire and loss, impermanence and beauty, and the many dimensions of our connections with others.
Inspired by imagery from the mid- century, the paintings are colorful yet bittersweet, depicting fleeting moments captured in bygone days. Suspended in time, Harris’ stylish and elegant figures, dream by the pool, go on holiday, swim, and ski. The figures are mysterious and intriguing, reminding us of our own transient nature and soon to be forgotten summers.
Raised by two professional artists, Harris’s art career began at an early age. Initially showing in her family’s gallery, her work has since been exhibited in museums, galleries, and collections around the world, including the Laguna Art Museum and the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art. Her work has also been featured in the movie, The Face of Love, many international book covers, and on the cover of the leading art magazine in France, Beaux Arts.
