As I develop these works there is imagery that reappears throughout the paintings and a vocabulary that is emerging from these images: Hot air balloons caught in trees or under a roof represent unrealized dreams. Water is a reflective, not solid surface. In times of conflict water can be neutral ground. Also many of these paintings imply a conflict.

Through these images I hope to achieve a poetry that resonates truth within us all. I think there is something innately human that perpetuates us to realize our fantasies. (For example, flight for so long was only a fantasy.) I am hoping to evoke the emotional space from which our aspirations derive, and how we achieve these dreams despite our inner conflicts.
